Selecting the Perfect Gold

  • I begin crafting your engagement ring by choosing the highest quality gold, typically 99% pure. This ensures that your ring will have both elegance and durability. I also select non-reactive metals like silver and other allergy-free materials for mixing.

Creating the Gold Ingot

  • Next, I melt the carefully chosen metals together in a crucible using a torch, creating a molten mixture. This is a crucial step in the process as it forms the basis for the ring. The molten metal is then poured into an ingot mold.

Forging and Milling

  • I forge the gold to align its molecular structure and make it more malleable. The forged gold is then passed through my rolling mill to create a fine wire of the desired thickness.

Shaping the Ring

  • Using the wire, I shape it into a half wire and then form it into the desired ring size. To ensure a strong bond, I use hard solder to connect the two ends, creating the foundation of your unique ring.

Crafting the Basket

Soldering the Basket

  • For this specific design with six prongs, I continue working with the same wire. After running it through the rolling mill again to make it thinner, I carefully create the prongs. Once they reach the desired thickness, I connect them to form the basket that will hold your precious gemstone.

  • The basket is then meticulously soldered onto the ring structure I created earlier. This step requires precision to ensure that the prongs are perfectly aligned to securely hold the stone in place.

Refining and Polishing

  • After the ring is fully assembled, I take the time to sand and polish every surface, removing any scratches that may have occurred during the crafting process. The ring is then dipped into a pickle solution to remove any stains or impurities left from using the torch

Setting the Stone

  • I personally select conflict-free gemstones of the highest quality that fit your design. To set the stone, I create a precise seat using a micro-motor and then use stone setting pliers to securely place and align the prongs around the gemstone.

Final Finishing

  • Your ring is almost complete! I finish the process by polishing the entire piece using specialized machinery. It's then steamed in a jewelry steamer and cleaned in an ultrasonic machine at temperatures exceeding 102 degrees Fahrenheit, ensuring it's immaculate and ready for you to wear.

The Unique Result

  • Finally, your one-of-a-kind engagement ring is complete! It's essential to remember that each step of this intricate process is carried out by hand, from selecting the materials to setting the stone. This labor of love ensures the highest quality, craftsmanship, and a truly special piece of jewelry that will be treasured for a lifetime.

  • And the best part? The exceptional craftsmanship doesn't break the bank. Your engagement ring is a testament to the care and dedication that goes into every piece I create.
